Glasses.
People have different facial features and shapes that determine the type of glasses that suits them best.
Having the wrong size and shape of glasses can offset the balance of your face. Learning the shape of your face is important since it helps you to pick the right frame for your glasses.
Know the shape and the measurements of your face before shopping for glasses. Here are the steps on how to measure your face:
You can measure your face with a measuring tape and get the right size of glasses to go with your face. Use a flexible tape to take precise measurements. Take measurements in a well-lit room and use a mirror to see them. Take them with you as you shop for glasses.
2. Measure your face as you write down the measurements
Take the measurement of the length of your cheekbones:
- Measure the height of the middle section of your forehead in between your eyebrow to the hairline.
- Get the distance from the base on one side of the jaw line to the tip of your chin and multiply the results by two.
- Finally, measure your total facial height from your hairline to your chin.
- Write down all the measurements
3. Use the measurements to determine your facial shape
Facial shapes are determined by certain measurements of your face.
- Round face - your facial width is similar to your facial height. Your forehead appears to be slightly narrower than your cheeks.
- Square face - Your facial height and width is almost the same. Your jaw and forehead measurements are nearly identical to your cheek measurements
- Oblong face - your facial height is longer than the width. However, the forehead, cheeks and chin measurements are identical.
- Diamond face - your facial height seems to be longer than the width with your forehead and jaw measurements being similar. Your cheek measurements are slightly wider than the two.
- Oval face - your facial height is slightly lower than the width. Your chin is slightly narrower than the forehead, and the cheeks are slightly wider than the two.
