Signs You are Sleeping with Bed Bugs

Bed bugs, so-called because they like to feed on animal and human blood at night, can easily turn into a big icky problem. This is because these bloodsuckers can easily spread to other areas of your house and even in neighboring areas if left untreated for a long time.
Although bed bugs - also known as “red coates”, “wall lice” and “mahogany flats” - have not been known to transmit any diseases to humans, they can still leave you covered with unsightly red dots and itching like crazy for days.
Adult bed bugs are visible to the naked eye, more so after feeding because they are reddish brown in color, without wings, and about the size of an apple seed. Young bed bugs though are translucent in color, whitish-yellow. The eggs, which are just the size of a pinhead with a red dot, are pearl-white in color and a bit difficult to detect.
A feeding bedbug. The blood it sucks from its victim gives it a darker reddish color.
